The camera captures the slightest movements of 20 performers, carried away by the pulsating music and the raw, vital pleasure of dance. The nightclub is the stage for a spellbinding ritual. Hands brush against each other, eyes meet, bodies swirl, embrace, merge together and separate in a collective momentum. Between introspection and exaltation, the trance-like state of the dancers fills the screen with its dynamic force.
Fascinated by nightclubs and dance halls, Sylvain Émard celebrated the visceral, instinctive and liberating dimension of dance in Rhapsodie (2022). He has now immortalized that hypnotic choreography in this film-event.
